TK's Place wasn't born from a business plan. It grew from two men whose lives were changed by sober living—and who eventually had the opportunity to give that same kind of environment to somebody else.

I Came to California for 30 Days.
I never expected one decision to change the direction of my life.
The plan was to go back to my corporate job.
I came to California thinking I'd be here for 30 days. The plan was to get myself together and go back to my corporate job.
But I knew the truth. I needed serious help. The way I was living, I wasn't sure I was going to make it another week.
For the first time, I became willing to stop doing things my way and do what was suggested. Part of that meant checking into sober living.
I didn't just find a place to live. I found structure, accountability, people who expected something from me, and an opportunity to start building a completely different life.
I spent four years living in sober living while rebuilding my life in recovery.
Since then, I've been fortunate enough to found a business that generated more than seven figures, create a clothing line, and open a baseball card business.
But the biggest lesson wasn't about business.
It was learning what can happen when somebody is given the right environment, becomes willing to do the work, and has people around them who believe growth is possible.

Ken came from Nebraska, where he grew up farming. Our backgrounds were different, but sober living became an important part of both of our lives.
This place helped save Ken's life too. He spent four years living here while rebuilding his own life in recovery.
Since then, Ken has created several companies focused on using technology to automate the workforce and is currently building his next technology venture.
Neither of us planned on owning a sober living someday.
We just knew what sober living had given us—and when we had the opportunity to give that to somebody else, we couldn't walk away from it.
